1 down, 1.2 to go…

Yesterday was my one-year anniversary of being in Morocco, so I had a little party by myself last night. I froze apple-flavored milk and ate it like ice cream and watched “Something’s Gotta Give” with Diane Keaton and Jack Nicholson. I know, I know. It was the only movie I had that hadn’t been seen yet and it wasn’t all that bad. So after I had partied out, I went to sleep.

I woke up at four in the morning not feeling so great with stomach pains. I took some pepto and went back to sleep. Upon awaking, I was definitely sick. I called the nice Medical staff in Rabat and they told me what to do. It just really sucks being sick in Morocco by yourself; sickness isn’t something you get a lot of sympathy for here. Oh well. I’ve been here for a year and I can’t believe that at all.

I received my grant for my framed-art project today. Very exciting. I’m still trying to work out with the carpenters how best to build it. The project has to be inclusive, so soon I’ll be having a meeting with all the people who are interesting in forming a Saharan Culture Preservation Society, which will preserve the culture by creating new products using material already in existence.

But, it’s time to go and play the Turkish toilet game (not so fun when you’re sick) and then back to bed for me. Take care of yourselves out there.

Oh, it’s OKAY to post comments. This way I’ll know if someone is actually reading my blog, or if I’m just fooling myself into believing so. Also, sorry if you found an unexpected website last week. I recently switched severs to bloghosts and now I’m very happy.
